What you’ve done becomes the judge of what you’re going to do – especially in other people’s minds.
When you’re traveling, you are what you are right there and then.
People don’t have your past to hold against you.
No yesterdays on the road.

This is a post about a newfound friend, Rachel. If I remember correctly, I saw her post in a forum in Couchsurfing. We met (in person) and chatted for hours, before we know it, it was close to midnight! We have similar interests – nature! It felt like we’ve known each other for years! All the way from Oklahoma, she was here in Singapore for a 2-month internship with an NGO.
The best thing about meeting travellers in your own country is that they tell you things about your own place that you have never known/visited! Rachel has taught me a lot, I swear. She highlighted some of the things we Singaporeans do; I didn’t even think they’re weird until she mentioned it!
I truly enjoyed every moment with her, the dinner, supper, Couchsurfing gathering and a day before she left, we went to the Zoo!
I don’t know about you, but I enjoy and love giving. In giving, I find joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment. One of my aims in life is to make someone truly happy, at least one a day. Speechless happy. Honestly happy. So here are my gifts to Rachel! An Indian-Malay top is not in picture.
It was nice to see her expression! Even more rewarding when she said, “I’ve never received gifts with so much thoughts put into it”. Aww babe, you have no idea how much those words made my day!
Gonna end this post with photos of our trip to the zoo! Till we meet again Rachel, this isn’t a goodbye, this is a “see you soon”!
Hey you, if you’re coming to Singapore, let’s meet! If you’re a Singaporean, let’s meet too ;)
